Short Term Mission Team July 2010
Hey everyone,
Sorry it has been so long since our last blog. June and July have been a whirlwind, but soooo great. We will be sending out a newsletter before too long to update you on some stuff here. If you are not currently receiving our email newsletters and would like to, leave a message for us by clicking the “contact us” link on the left and send us your email address.
In the meantime, I would like to show you a video. We just got done with having a short-term mission team here for a week. They were from the US, Holland, Australia, Finland, and England. Sretna Nova Godina (or Happy New Year)
Okay, this is a REALLY late “Happy New Year.” However, I had this footage and wanted to post it before 2011 came. This gives you an idea of how big New Years is here. It is actually like Christmas is in America. They put up stockings, decorated trees, and New Years lights. Very different experience for us, but we definitely enjoyed it.

Before…
So, we took this footage months ago and it was definitely funny to watch it again. Here is a look at our language in the beginning stages. I would like to say that we are a lot further; however, sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. Anyway, we will look at it like a before and after makeover. This is definitely our “before.” Enjoy.

Bit of Bosnia #2
This is not really a historical bit of Bosnia, but it is a bit nonetheless. “Zima” (which means winter) is definitely a big deal in this country. Some of the nationals definitely gave something crazy to imagine. When you watch the video, pay attention to the street and surroundings and think about this. Ten years ago the snow would accumulate so high that people would have to dig tunnels to get from place to place. I can’t even begin to imagine. Fortunately, it didn’t get near that bad our first winter here. Enjoy.

Samaritan’s Purse Distribution
Many of you are familiar with the ministry of Samaritan’s Purses. Well, we receive a shipment of them each year to distribute to the children here in Sarajevo. Here is a little video of the program we had to do this. It was made by another guy on our team here who is very talented at this stuff. Thanks, Casey.

Music the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Way
